Mohammad Usman

Usman holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from The Islamia University Bahawalpur, Pakistan, which he completed in 2018. He subsequently obtained his Master’s degree in Computer Science from COMSATS University Islamabad, Pakistan, in 2021. His Master’s thesis focused on evaluating transfer learning of vision transformers for medical imaging. Following his academic pursuits, Usman worked as a Machine Learning Engineer at SLOSH AI Solutions from 2021 to 2022, where he performed research and developed computer vision solutions for the healthcare domain.

Driven by his passion for taking on challenges and working on complex problems in the medical field, Usman moved from Pakistan to Spain to contribute to international projects and to further his advances in research. Currently, he is doing PhD in Computer Science at the University of Barcelona, Spain. As a pre-doctoral researcher in the computer science department, he is currently working on projects that aim to develop deep learning techniques for single-cell omics data to understand and address the neurological alterations associated with Huntington’s disease.
